    First Women's Rights Convention

    Elizabeth Stanton held the first women's rights convention to bring to light the injustices that were occurring regarding the rights of women. During Elizabeth Stanton's speech, she read the Declaration of Sentiments which indicated that women should be given the same rights as men. The Declaration of Sentiments was modeled after the Declaration of Independence and stated that women should have the right to vote. She was tired of the injustices happening which led to the fight for equality.
  • Women's National Loyal League

    Women's National Loyal League

    Susan Anthony and Elizabeth Stanton created the Women's National Loyal League organization. This organization was important because it attempted to put an end to the Civil War using words. They wanted to create an amendment that abolished slavery. In 1865 the 13th amendment was passed and abolished slavery. Beforehand individuals believed that African Americans were less than the average American but this organization showed the truth. This is why Elizabeth Stanton wanted to fight for equality.
  • Universal Suffrage

    Universal Suffrage

    Susan Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton created a petition to send to the members of congress which asked for states to stop depriving any citizens based on sex. This was important for gender equality because at the time because certain individuals were not given the same rights due to their sex. I believe that Elizabeth Stanton was tired of facing injustices throughout her life and it was time to fight for what was right. The petition was necessary for her to fight for women's rights.
  • International Council of Women

    With the help of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, the International Council of Women was organized. the International Council of Women is important because it helped fight for world health, peace, equality, and education. This council helped in the fight for gender equality by attempting to promote it throughout the world. The worldwide effect that this council may have motivated individuals into speaking up about injustices that were occurring throughout the world.
