I started kindergarten at Lincoln Elementary School in Long Beach, CA without knowing a single word of English. So begins a life of learning.

I graduated Lakewood High School with high honors. Outside of two weeks that we lived in Fresno, my whole educational career thus far has been through the Long Beach Unified School District. Time to branch out!

I graduated college from University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. During this time I volunteered my time as a tutor at an afterschool program. I loved my time there and decided that I should try to become a high school math teacher.

I starting taking credential courses at National University. It showed me what to prepare for as i looked to begin my teaching career.

I got hired as an algebra teacher at Wilson Classical High School in Long Beach on an emergency credential. I was excited and terrified!

Finished my Single-Subject Credential and received a Master's Degree in Education from National University. I got to directly apply what I was learning in my teacher preparation classes to my math classes.

I continued to develop as a teacher through professional development course offered through the Long Beach Unified School District. It helped me continue to improve lessons, check for understanding, and create fair assessments.
