  • Tobacco

    Tobacco
    In 1612 John Rolfe in Jamestown Virginia, began to import west Indian seeds to use for personal pleasure. The tobacco seed led to trading within the colony itself and outside of the country. It also caused a solid trade between Jamestown and West India.
  • The Illinois Indian Trade

    Time Period: 1673-1700
    The Illinois Indian Trade was an extensive trading network that was between the Ilinois who are warriors and the Outaouaks, they would trade for Muskets, Powder, Kettles, Hatchets, and Knives. This greatly impacted the economy of the US because it provided the Native Americans with supplies that where necessary to furthur their economic well-being.

    England Declares War on Spain
    This war put the US economy in a hardship because as a result the hostilities break out between Florida Spanirds and Georgia and South America Colonists, that put the economy in a budget deficit.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    90,000 pounds of tea were dumped into the Boston Harbor on December 16th, 1773 by colonists dressed as Mohawk Indians in protest against the British government. It was one of the key events leading up to the American Revolution.
  • The Lousiana Purchase

    The Lousiana Purchase
    The United States bought the entire Louisiana Territory for $15 million dollars in 1803 from Napoleon. This was very important because people were in search of new land to plant crops and raise livestock. The purchase was nearly cancelled by Congress and only passed by the vote of 59-57.

    President Johnson was impeached. Due to this the economy took a downslide, it went into an even bigger budget deficit, as it already was in a major budget deficit.
  • UAW Strike Against Ford

    Time Period: October 3-20 1961
    UAW (United Automobile Workers) strike against 88 Ford plants in 26 states in protest of wanting better benefits and higher wages. On October 20th, Ford reached a settlement and everyone on strike went back to work. This impacted the economy because cars stopped being made and car dealerships lost a lot of money because they were not selling many cars.

    Apple Incorperated was introduced to the economy, this was a huge impact on the economy that is still an apparent impact in our world today.

    9/11
    Not only did Islamic Terrorists crash into the Twin Towers, but they sent the American economy into a downward spiral. After the attacks on the building, the United States began to attack other countries. This war that was started made the American economy go downward as huge sums of money went into fighting foreign contries that were beleived to have terrorist activity. This war with terrorism which was started because of this attacks can be linked with the recession that hit the US.

    President Obama was Sworn into Office
    When President Obama was sworn into office the National Debt was about 1.5 Trillion dollars; present day the National Debt is about 17 Trillion dollars and increasing rapidly. Obviously President Barrack Obama becoming president has had a negative effect on the economy we have today.

    With 3D printing is making it easy to turn matter into data with a 3D scanner. One of its many abilities is the making of prothetics. Researchers have been able to print off replacement bones for patients this is especially useful for people who've fractured bones in a car crash or perhaps chipped a tooth.
