    Han Fei was a Legalist philosopher, who is considered to be the face of Chinese Legalism. His work "Han Feizi" is a comprehensive text of Chinese Legalism and includes and adds to the thoughts of previous Legalist scholars. Legalism became the predominant philosophy in the Qin Dynasty. Legalism emphasizes the importance of strict rule of law. Contrary to Taoism, Legalism stated that humans were innately selfish, and had to be treated as such.
