    This date marks the time in American history when the Declaration of Independence was signed. This date is important because this is how we left Great Britain to become the United States of America. Without this event we would still be under the control of Great Britain.

    This date in American history marks September 17th, 1787, when the U.S. Constitution was signed. This date is important because the U.S. Constitution is our form of government and if all the states hadn't agreed on it then it would have never become our government. The U.S. would be a mess.

    John D. Rockefeller was a great American business man. He started an oil company by cheating out everyone else that sold oil. He bacame very wealthy. He was one of the reasons so many immigrants came to the United States, to fufill the American dream. He eventually sold his business and became a billinare. His name is still well recognized in society today, along with Andrew Carngie.

    The California Gold Rush was a time in history when gold was easily found in California. Miners from the east came to descover their fortune, but to no evail. In fact the only real profitors of the gold rush were store owners.

    The Battle of Gettysburg was the turning point in the Civil War. The North won and the South never recovered. Even though the North won a great battle, Lincoln fired his general, becasue he failed to capture Confederate general Robert E. Lee.

    The Indians near wounded knee creek were practicing a ceremonial dance, the soldiers guarding them misunderstood and thought they .were planning war. This event triggered open fire on the innocent Native Americans. Over 200 men, women, and children died.

    This timespan in histiory marks a time when North Vietnam (Communists) and South Vietnam (Anticommunists) were at war. This war was influencial becasue it was the longest U.S war. It also had very little pubic support.

    This event marked a time in history where raceism was prominent. This was very important to American history because it was the official speech that persuaded most to give African Americans civil rights.

    This event marks a time in history where the British invasion began. The British Invasion was a period of time in the 1960's when British bands came from England to make money from their music. Beatlemania is a name for the intense fan frenzy began over the band The Beatles (the first British invaders). This is important to America's history because it began a new age of television and entertainment.

    During the Greta Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union the Apollo 11 space craft was the second man made object with people to ever touch the surface of the moon. This was important to America because we had finally reached the moon! Where else to go but up from there?
