Victoria is the richest goldfield state with about 1000 tonnes of gold found in just the 1850s. -

in Bathurst in 1851 -

They moved down the river from Bathurst to the seminal creek there was more gold there -
NSW - Lewis Pond Creek and Turon River.
This discovery of gold lead to thousands of miners rushing to Lewis Pond Creek and Turon River. -
NSW - Hill End
Greater riches were found deep underground at Hill
End this is where Bernard Holterman and Ludwig
Beyers found a chute of gold which was valued at £12,000. -
Victoria-Ballarat-Buninyong
in August Thomas Hiscock was rewarded
£1,000 for finding gold at Buninyong which is south
of Ballarat. 1852- Gold was found in Ballarat and 20,000
miners came to pan for gold. -
Queensland-Port Curtis.
In 1858, 8000 Victorians alone rushed to Port
Curtis. -

In 1864 there were 300 mines and 64,000 miners in Ballarat. -

In 1867 John Nash discovered gold in Gympie.Two
months later 25,000 miners had relocated to
Gympie in the hope of finding gold. -

Palmer River was a dangerous place to mine, 17,000 miners were mining in Palmer River by 1877, and 7,000 of these miners were Chinese. -
Queensland-Gympie
Gympie required deep mining which started and continued
for as long as until 1925.
