  • Sir Thomas Brisbane

    Sir Thomas Brisbane the Governor of New South Whales had sent the explorer John Oxley on a job to find potential new penal sites.

  • Redclife is established

    The covict settlement of Morton Bay, were the people who established Redclife in the year of 1824, but it was transfered to tyhe Brisbane river banks that is northern end of the Victoria Bridge.

  • German Missionaries

    The German Missionaries established Zion Hill Mission that is now known as Nundah so that they can bring Christianity to the Indigenous people of Brisbane

  • Morton Bay

    In 1842 the Morton was offically a free settlement to the open.

  • The First Newspaper

    The first newspaper in Queensland was called The Morton Bay Courier is Published.It then became The Courier then after that The Brisbane Courier and since 1933 it became The Courier-Mail.

  • The Colony of Queensland

    On the 10th of December 1859 Queenslands first Govonor Sir George Ferguson and his Lady Daimantina was the day that they arrived in Brisbane. It was for the proclamation of Queensland being established as a colony.

  • The Fist Telegraph in Queensland

    In April 1861, it was the establishment of the first telegraph line, which then the communication level started revolutionising in the colony. It was the first link between Ipswich and Brisbane and was later extended it Sydney.

  • The Kanakas People

    The Kanakas people were Melanesion people that were from the South Pacific had arrived in Queensland to work in the Queensland cane fields until 1904
