  • The first County Championship was held

    This was When the first Country games were played and this made it more appealing for people to watch as it was more of a team and spectator sport.
  • Test and County Cricket Board

    This was the first governing body before the ECB and they were in charge of planning all of the Test and County Cricket matches. this was good for the spectators as they knew when they were able to watch their side play certain games
  • Ceremonial County

    Although Rutland shares a board with neighbouring Leicestershire, Westmorland and Cumberland it was replaced with Cumbria
  • The TCCB had a First Class team, they palyed five matches between 1981 and 1996

    This meant that although they were running the test and county games they were also participating in them as well. this showed that they were committed to playing the sport.
  • Scotland severed their ties with the TCCB and England

    This meant that Scotland were not able to have any of the funding of the ECB when it was forned and any fudning from England.
  • The England and Wales Cricket Board was Formed

    This meant that the TCCB was abolished and made into the ECB with the National Cricket Association
  • The ECB took on responsibility for the direction of women's cricket

    This helped to get the women game into the eys of the public and this meant that they would get more funding and also get more people participating.
  • Sky Sports gained television rights for Live Test Cricket

    When Sky Sports gained the television rights for live test cricket it meant that anybody with the sky sports subscription could watch the cricket from the comfort of their own home instead of having to go out and watch it if they didnt want to.
  • ECB appeared to dither over the employment contract of the bowling coach Troy Cooley

    Troy Cooley who was seen by many as an important contributor to England's Ashes success. Cooley then left England and joined the Australian setup.
  • ECB's Income

    The ECB's income in 2007 was £93.0 million this is up £77.0 million from 2006.
  • ECB's Fee Payments

    The ECB distributed £31.6 million across the country to 18 different first class counties. That is equivalent to £1.75 million per county.
  • ECB Funding

    The ECB announced a £0 million investment in facilities and in club cricket, this is the most significant injection of funding ever in cricket in England and Wales
  • Andy Flower stepped down as head coach

    This meant that England had to look for a new head coach. After a few months of looking the finally found Peter Moores and he lead England to the World Cup when they got knocked out in the group stages.
  • Kevin Pietersen has his central contract terminated

    This lead to massive up roar as he was concidered to be in brilliant form and the comentators said that you should drop your best player if you are going to lose and this is what happened. This meant that the heads of the England players had dropped as they werent winning as many matches as they had been
  • The first Royal London One-Day Cup was held

    This is a tournament that attracts the biggest players through the county system and they all compete for a trophy by going through a knock out stage and group stage. This also means that they get more money through the tickets and prize money for the funding.
  • The first NatWest T20 Blast was held

    The NatWest T20 Blast is a tournament for the big hitters of the game. They need to go through a group stage and then through the knock out stages. This brings more money to the sport for funding and also it means more people can watch it and this is because the games are mostly at night which means people can get home from work then go to watch the games.
