  • Birth and early life.

    Daniel Dennett was born in Boston Massachusetts on March 28th 1942. He worked on getting his bachelors of philosophy from Harvard University in 1963. He went on to receive his PHD from Oxford.
  • Giving Libertarians What They Say They Want

    In his 1978 book Brainstorms, Dennett mad the case of a two stage model for decision making process that directly contrasts libertarian views.
  • Darwin's Dangerous Idea

    Dennett has been known for his thoughts on darwins theories on evolutionism. He describes Darwin's theory of Natural selection as blind. He also describes darwins work as a slippery slope, he failed, however, to go into any significant detail and left it for the readers to decipher. He won a Pulitzer prize for Non-fiction in 1996.   • Breaking the Spell

    Dennett wrote a book in 2006 called Breaking the Spell: Religion as a Natural Phenomenon. Where he describes religion as in need of scientific analysis. He describes the scientific community has a duty to break down the spell of religion. the book was received poorly by other philosophers as well as religious critics.
  • A.I.

    Dennett takes a look at the "parasitic" AI systems and the danger of the systems. His book "From Bacteria to Bach and Back" and it is a direct contradiction to other prominent philosophers. Dennett believes that humans cognitive abilities will be dwarfed by AI in 50 years.
