As far back as the Ancient Laws of china, the death penalty has been established as a punishment for crimes. In the 18th century BC, the code of King Hammurabi of Babylon codified the death penalty for twenty five different crimes, although murder was not one of them. The first death was in china, a man that was accused for doing magic. He was killed by an axe in the 18th century.
  • crimes people have committed

These are some of the Crimes people have committed to be able to have the death penalty. Treason, terrorism, espionage, federal murder, large-scale drug trafficking, and attempting to kill a witness, juror, or court officer in certain cases. Military law allows execution to criminals.
  • should the death penalty be allowed

I personally think that the death penalty shouldn't be allowed because even though they're criminals, I don't think its right for someone to die. yes they are criminals, but they're also people. They should be allowed to live with what th y did. Capital punishment is a barbaric remnant of civilized society.
