During the writing of their fifth album "Nightmare" Their best friend and drummer was found dead in his home at the age of 28, cause of death was acute polydrug intoxication, Medical Prescribed Drugs Mixed with Alcohol. -

Their fifth album was originally going to be released sometime in 2009 but because of the death of their best friend it was held back. But later released, it was recored with Dream Theatre's formal Drummer Mike Portnoy. -

Four Years with Arin
A year after Nightmare was released, Avenged Sevenfold needed a new Drummer, because Mike was not a long term replacement for them. They had different people try out for the spot of being the new drummer for Avenged, after numerous people they decided to take Arin as their new drummer. Later on their website they Announced that Arin was on they band for good. But After HTTK came out they went on tour for four years with Arin, But later in 2015 they departed because of creative differences. -
Arin Ilejay
New album was out and tour dates were getting confirmed and they needed a new Drummer, Arin Ilejay joined. -

Is the Sixth Album of A7X, That was the first album with the new drummer Arin. -
Brooks Wackerman
After they Announced that they departed with Arin Ilejay, they later announced that they have been working with Brooks for over a year while Arin was still their drummer, and after he left Brooks became the new drummer. -
