  • Foo Fighters formed

    Dave Grohl took a break from music as he had just gone through such a traumatic experience with one of his bandmates, and best friends taking his own life. This forced Grohl to take a hiatus from music. He then realized he wanted to do something, and instead of being the drummer this time he wanted to sing and play guitar. He recorded and EP under the name Foo Fighters and played all the instruments. He showed the EP to some people and they wanted to joing so he started a band.
  • Nirvana Ends

    Nirvana had become one of the biggest rock bands of the time, and when they were at their peak it all ended. Kurt Cobain the leader of the band killed himself causing the end of Nirvana.
  • Foo Fighters release First Album

    After Grohl had formed the band with a bassist and drummer from the band "Sunny Day Real Estate" and a former Nirvana Guitarist, Pat Smear, then they started to record and album. It was the original EP that Grohl had made except with the full band in it. It was released to much sucess, and this started the rise of Foo Fighters.
  • The Colour and the Shape released

    The Foo Fighters had been starting to become an well-known band, but this album made them famous. It has gone down as one of their biggest albums, if not their biggest. It features many songs that are still played live to this day. This is the album that put the Foo Fighters as one of the forces of new rock.
  • Wasting Light is recorded at Dave Grohls house

    The album "Wasting Light" was recorded out of Grohl's wanting to bring the band back to his roots. Playing in a garage, recording on tape. He recorded it at his house with the band, and it really shows his personality as a family man, and the culmination of all of his years of work into his music.
