    Darwin is shocked after experiencing an earthquake in Valdivia, which he believes drastically affected the land in the area. Mount Osomo erupting on Chiole Island was witnessed by Charles first-hand.

    Charles discovers that the Marine Iguanas appear to only eat Seaweed in their diet. The large tortoises also intrigued Darwin. Charles collected a vast array of aviary samples, but after getting back to London he discovers that all of those specimens are actually all finches. This soon lead to him discovering his hoghly revered Theory of Evolution.

    The many marsupials in Australia fascinate Charles as he explores Sydney on the island continent.

    In the Cocos Islands Charles discovers and observes the various types of coral on the sea floor. He is entranced by their beauty.

    Darwin discovered that the coast in Mauritius was mainly covered in black lava, lacking in plant life. His observations on this area of the world are a bit lackluster, perhaps due to tiredness.
  • Cape Town, South Africa

    Darwin observes that Table Mountain is about 3500 feet tall from sea level. He is also amused by the surplus of bullock wagons (wagons pulled by oxen) in the area.

    Charles returns to South America once again. However, this stop was not planned. Charles has become quite homesick and wishes to return to England, but the Beagle had to take a detour in order to take aditional longitudal measurements.
