    26 July Movement
    Guerrilla forces survive on the move for six months while developing peasant support
    The movement allowed for Castro and rebels to bring support from peasant willingly. The rebels were able to demonstrate their commitment to the people and spread the word of promises Batista failed at. Because they were able to gain support from the peasant that consisted of 70 percent unemployment, they received helped later in the guerrilla attacks.
  • Granma Expedition

    Granma Expedition
    After being exiled to Mexico and forging a plan, Castro returned to Mexico with 82 revolutionaries on a yacht. There plan was to land at Playas les Colorades and join cells located there but, they were delayed 2 days behind ruining everything. Before the Granma hit shore it was attacked and taken down by Batista's military and only 18 along with Castro survived.
    This is significant because Castro used his survival to later reemerged as a hero and documented his life as a revolutionist

At this breaking point it gave way and rise to authoritarian government and leader through the revolutionaries willing to speak out for the people.

    Batista launches Operation Verano
    Batista launches a full scale offensive operation as his fear increases that the revolutionaries are getting out of his control. Although Batista has 12000 soldiers, all are afraid and are unfamiliar with the mountain terrain allowing Castro and 300 guerrillas to take the victory. Battle of Las Mercedes and Battle of La Plata.
    Because the Operation failed it demonstrated Batista's inability to take care of not only rebels but any threat for Cuba. Demonstrated hunger for power from Batista.

    Battalion 18 led by Major Jose Quevedo against revolutionaries, lasting ten days.
    Because Castro had known Major Quevedo and was patient with him, Castro in the end earned himself an ally that willingly surrendered.
