Parris finds the girls dancing in the forest and Abigail drinks the thing, and blames it all on tituba.
I chose to put this event in my timeline because it sets up all the events leading to the witch trials. It is the first “Siting of witchcraft'' in the story. When Abigail is questioned about conjuring spirits. She blames tituba, leading her to blame other people starting the whole witch trials. -
2
Reverend Hale come to Salem
This is important because he questions Procter about witchcraft. This leads to Procter not being able to cite the 10 commandments, missing adultery. Hale also arrested Elizabeth for witchcraft, because of Abigail. Making John mad, and giving abigail power. -
3
Mary Testifies against Abigail
This is important because it shows how far the trials have gone. John asks Mary to testify against Abigail. During the Testification (if that's a word) Parris says that they are trying to overthrow the court. But Procter only wants to free his wife, then John learns that Elizabeth is pregnant -
4
Abigail Denies Accusation
This is important because of how far Abigail and Mary have gone. Abigail Denies with her group of girls. She and the other girls pretend to see a bird that “Mary sent to them”. Abigal gets on her knees and starts “talking to god”, making John mad because he knows her sins. -
5
Proctor Adultery to Abigail
This is important because this is where the story changes. Proctor admits to adultery with Abigail potentially ruining his reputation. Abigail refuses so they bring in Elizabeth, Procter admits but Elizabeth lies to save his name. Abigail is free, and Mary says that John is the Devil to get out of trouble. -
6
Proctor Admits then shortly after rips it up.
This is important because it is the end of the story (:I). Procter would not say anything but after talking to his wife. Proctor says that he was working for the devil( To be free and care for his kids). Shortly after signing the document, he rips it up for his kids to have a good last name. He is hanged shortly after that .
