By the end of term 3, students will create an eBook for use in class. They will create images and text pages using a variety of digital technologies (both software and hardware).

    Prior Knowledge

    Do a KWL ( Read and discuss a variety of digital and print texts, gather info. on preferred illustration styles, page layouts, length of texts, etc.)
  • Step 1

    In groups of 2 or 3 students choose or create a piece of writing. (This could be a narrative or a recount or other suitable text)
  • Period: to

    Step 2 - Create Digital Images

    Students use iPads to capture own images, or search online for suitable images or use a drawing program to create images

    Step 3. Create eBook draft

    Students use an Application (like PhotoStory, Book Creator, PowerPoint or similar) to create first draft.

    Step 4 - Read and Review eBook

    Students have other class members read and review their eBook. Groups make any edits that are necessary. Send edited eBook to teacher for final approval.

    Step 5 - Read and Approve

    Teacher reads and approves eBook for Publising or for additonal edting.

    Step 6 - Final edit and Publishing

    Students do final edit and publish eBook to School website, School Library Platform or make available on iPads or Network for class members to use in class time.
