Those entering Canada had to self-isolate for 2 weeks. This was a preventative measure to not pass the virus to others.

Physical distancing orders from public health officials were needed to take stronger action. Public places like schools, centres, restaurants, and etc. were closed. It was crucial for people to stay home when not necessary to go out. Anyone exposed and/or had symptoms had to go into isolation.

Self-isolation worked to a certain extent. Those who passed on the disease may have not known they had it in the first place and weren't showing symptoms at the time. (Date was chosen from 2 weeks later borders were closed.)

Number of COVID-19 cases in Canada were shooting up. It started off in BC --> Ontario --> Quebec --> the rest of Canada.

As Canadians physical distance, numbers will continue to rise as symptoms will kick in with those who had it but didn't show symptoms at first when there weren't any strict physical distancing laws.
