It was rumored that Connor enjoyed his cupcake more than his toys. He has declined to comment.
-
Jacob (from left), Connor and Cousin Marshall play in the ball pit on the back deck as the adults watch. The adults were keeping an eye on all three boys, as one of them is a biter. The editor of this publication declines to identify the biter, but he is not her son.
-
Connor's first birthday party was held on his birthday, March 19, 2011. Family and friends gathered to celebrate his "big day."
-
The party, held at his house in Sanford, was a hit, as were the cupcakes and ice cream.
-
Welcome! This Timeline follows the wee lad's second year and features all sorts of cuteness, a multitude of messes and the chaos caused by a very active boy.
-
Connor is modeling the finest in Duncan Hines' chocolate cake mixes. The cake batter (made with pasturized eggs, so no worries about ooky illnesses) was used to make his Daddy's birthday cake.
-
"More cake! It's my favorite!" That's what Connor is saying. Honestly, we don't feed him sugar all of the time. Really. Honest.
-
Gampa Pat holds Connor in the "before" picture. Connor's hair was so long that his teachers pulled it back with a bobby pin.
-
Note the look of confusion on the wee lad's face. He is trying to pull his arms free from the smock. Connor never liked to be swaddled.
-
The waterworks begin. The adults, Daddy and Gampa Pat, are doing their best to distract Connor as the stylist does her best.
-
Connor's had enough of his time in the "big boy chair."
-
Held by Mommy, Connor is a little calmer. Well, he's calmer until the sugar kicks in. A Dum-Dum solved the tear fest.
-
Daddy, Mommy and Connor join Jessica and Liam Kelly at Gross Farms in Sanford, N.C., for an afternoon of strawberry picking.
-
Connor ate more berries than he placed into his bucket. But, as it was late in the season, the folks running the register didn't mind.
-
What? I'm not supposed to drink this?
Connor takes a dip in his above-ground pool. If it looks familiar, it's because it also doubles as the ball pit. And yes, he is wearing sunscreen. No, we do not think his pale skin crashed any planes flying into or out of RDU. -
Connor and Mommy went for a walk through the neighborhood this morning. It was the day of the annual yard sale. Mommy took $20 and her checkbook. She bought this and a toddler bed for $100. Not bad for hours of fun.
-
He made it to the top. Gampa Pat is in the background and Mommy is in the front -- just in case. Now what?
-
Connor has discovered a way down that's not as safe as taking one of the slides.
-
This is how you do it.
-
Silly, Mommy. Feed me on the deck.
-
This is a mobile upload. Connor attended Ella's birthday party at the Little Gym in Greensboro. He enjoyed "eating" the bars and jumping on the mats. Yes, he was teething.
-
Connor ate the ears off the lion pancake. The rest of the pancake lasted until we left Syracuse. If you're ever up that way, drop into Mother's Cupboard for surprisingly Southern-style food.
-
Connor enjoyed (and wore) his first snowcone at a Syracuse Chiefs game.
-
Connor took his first trip to the zoo while in Syracuse. Mommy, Daddy, Grandma Barb and Aunt Kymmi took the wee lad to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. Connor called every large four-legged animal "Eddie." Eddie is the family dog and he was at the kennel back home. So this lion was Eddie.
-
This is the elusive snow leopard. Other zoo visitors said that they'd never seen the big cat prior to this visit because it hides. This big cat could and would eat Eddie for breakfast.
-
Connor and Daddy hung out at the Greensboro Children's Museum while Mommy joined her colleagues at N.C. A&T to welcome freshmen journalism majors.
-
Connor chases bubbles with Uncle Tim and Aunt Lisa.
-
Hanging out with Uncle Tim. The guy most likely to bail me out after an AC/DC concert (and the guy who bought him this onesie).
-
This is not a good look, kid. It's OK for Halloween. It is not OK during the rest of the year. Love, Mommy.
-
Mommy bought Connor his first Carolina items at the Shrunken Head Boutique on Franklin Street. Mommy was on a panel called "Life After -30-" at the J-School. Mommy is all about encouraging the correct ACC loyalties. Daddy went to Syracuse, so Mommy has to start damage control before SU joins the ACC.
-
Connor investigates his new bed.
-
The wee lad is growing fast. He can climb out of his crib (at 18 months). So Daddy spray-painted that toddler bed Mommy bought at the yard sale. Our drive way looks like it was tagged by the Ziggy Stardust gang. Connor's bedroom theme is space. Daddy made him a moon buggy.
-
Connor hunts for the perfect pumpkin at the Gross Farms Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch.

The user may chose their own caption:
1. This flying thing isn't working. Where am I? Smallville?
2. Connor was not a fan of the layered look.
3. Mommy. Candy. Now. -
Connor's sign reads "Good luck Aunt Lisa."
-
Connor peers out at the tracks. He and Mommy are taking the Carolinian to Wilson for Thanksgiving. Daddy will drive out the next day. And yes, the train was late. But Connor had a blast.
-
Connor and Cousin Marshall sit still long enough for a few photos.
-
Connor hangs his train ornament on the tree. Gama Bobbie brought it back from Asheville for him.
-
Gampa Pat helps Connor with his Carvel ice cream cake.
-
"Open. Open." Connor was very excited with his Cookie Monster MP3 player (he calls it his phone). Mommy and Daddy like that he's happy but really would like a quiet present.
-
A Steelers football and a Thomas book! The book makes sounds but it's Thomas and that's pretty cool with Mommy and Daddy.
-
Connor is very vocal about his new toys. He's not a fan of the pajamas, but really likes the train, "phone" and books.
-
Helping Daddy play Golden T at the Syracuse airport.
-
This is Lincoln James Cawley. His Daddy and Connor's Daddy are best friends. Lincoln is three weeks old here. Connor's Daddy looks like he has his hands full.
-
Connor moves a boulder to clear a path to the kennel for Eddie. Mommy wanted to try the costume on him for pictures before he outgrew it.
-
From March 19, 2010 through Feb. 10, 2012, Connor hated to ride in the car for longer than 15 minutes. His car seat was swapped the morning of Feb. 11 and he was one happy camper for the hourlong drive to Greensboro. He was eating a cheeseburger Happy Meal and the fries may have helped calm him down.
-
Connor and Ellie are very excited to see a plane during their playdate.
