    Define conflict; How does conflict with your friends, change your friendship?; Students explore conflict in society using the 6 thinking hats; Why does change always follow conflict?; When there is conflict between or within societies, change is the result.
  • Conflict within Australia

    Students explore experiences of conflict between Australian democracy and citizenship, including the status and rights of Aboriginal people and/or Torres Strait Islanders, migrants and women.
  • Australia's Conflict Involvement in History

    Students explore children’s perspectives of ‘The Bombing of Darwin’ and ‘The Rum Rebellion’- ‘My Story’ diaries (scholastic); Sequence historical events of conflict in Australia; explore Australia’s involvement in global conflict.
  • Aftermath of Conflict

    Students research the role of the UN in conflict resolution. Students explore the impact that post WW2 had on Australia.
  • Refugees

    Students imagine having to leave home in a hurry in fear-What will take? Where will you go? How will you travel? Use current news reports from a conflict area to expand ideas. Collect sources which mention refugees and asylum seekers- research case studies to explain reasons for fleeing their home country.
  • Current Conflicts

    Students research a current issue of conflict using a range of resources including electronic media. These could include current local, national and global conflicts; for example, human rights issues or environmental protest. They consider actual and possible actions by citizens and nations in response to the issue/s.
