    William Shockley, John Bardeen and Walter Brattain of Bell Laboratories invent the transistor. A transistor computer that uses transistors instead of vacuum tubes.
  • Electronic Delay Storage Automatic Calculator (EDSAC)

    Electronic Delay Storage Automatic Calculator (EDSAC)
    Maurice Wilkes and a team at the University of Cambridge developed the EDSAC. It was able to calculate a table of squares and a list of prime numbers.
