    The ERA 1101 is created. It is the first commerically produced computer. It held 1 million bytes and was the first to use magnetic storage. It was a huge break through in computers.

    IMB created it's first computer, called the 701. During 3 years of production, they sold 19 to research facilities, aircraft companies, and the government. It allowed for better communication between governments and more break throughs in science.
  • DEC's PDP-1

    DEC's PDP-1
    The first precursor to the minicomputer sold for $120,000. One of 50 built computers included a cathode ray tube graphic, and needed no air conditioning. The first video game, known as SpaceWar! was used on this.
