  • First Computer Ever Invented

    First Computer Ever Invented
In 1939, John V. Atanasoff and Clifford Berry developed the Atanasoff-Berry Computer (ABC) at Iowa State University, which was regarded as the first electronic digital computer. The ABC was built by hand and the design used over 300 Vacuum Tubes and had capacitors fixed in a mechanically rotating drum for memory. I think this one is important because it started the first computer and without it the computer would have never been created.
  • WWII Flight Simulators

    WWII Flight Simulators
Project Whirlwind begins. During World War II, the U.S. Navy approached the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) about building a flight simulator to train bomber crews. This one is important because it was a big part of the war, It simulated flight without even being in a real plane. That was reveloutionary for it's time.
  • The First Company

    The First Company
Heinz Nixdorf founded Nixdorf Computer Corp. in Germany. It remained an independent corporation until merging with Siemens in 1990 This one is huge in history because it made computers avaliable for public use.
  • IBM's 7000 Mainframe

    IBM's 7000 Mainframe
IBM´s 7000 series mainframes were the company´s first transistorized computers. At the top of the line of computers — all of which emerged significantly faster and more dependable than vacuum tube machines I chose this one because IBM cahnged the world of computers and created something very special.
  • The New Intergrated Circuit

    The New Intergrated Circuit
Fairchild Camera and Instrument Corp. invented the resistor-transistor logic (RTL) product, a set/reset flip-flop and the first integrated circuit available as a monolithic chip. This one is important because it was the first intergrated circuit. Without those computer wouldn't be very far now.
  • Tandy Radio Shack

    Tandy Radio Shack
Tandy Radio Shack is founded. Tandy Radio Shack (TRS) was formed by the 1963 merger of Tandy Leather Company and Radio Shack. Radio shack is a store now. It's still in buisness because it still sells well.
  • The First Modem

    The First Modem
John van Geen of the Stanford Research Institute vastly improved the acoustically coupled modem. Modems are a big part of technology now a days. This was created and is still used. It was a great invention and deserves to be in my timeline.
  • First Electronicly Made Robot Arm

    First Electronicly Made Robot Arm
Victor Scheinman´s Stanford Arm made a breakthrough as the first successful electrically powered, computer-controlled robot arm. Robots are starting to become part of our society in modern days. It was a huge improvement in technology and a great invention.
