  • 11:19 AM - The Shooting Began

    11:19 AM
    The attack began. Kleebold and Harris open fired on students seated outside the west entrance. They killed two, and injured five. Some students and teachers though this was a "senior prank" and thought nothing of the attack.
  • 9:00 AM - Morning Announcements

    Around 9:00
    The school's daily announcements are being televised on the classroom TV sets. A message scrolls across the bottom of the screen saying, "Today is not a good day to be here."
  • 11:10 AM - They arrive.

    Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold arrive seperately at the school in their owns cars. Harris and Klebold leave their cars carrying several CO2 bombs one semi-automatic 9mm handgun, a 9mm carbine rifle, a sawed-off twelve gauge shotgun, and a sawed-off twelve gauge pump shotgun. They also carried two duffle bags, each containing a 20 lb propane bomb. The timers on the bombs were set to go off at 11:17AM. This was enough explosives to kill over 500 people.
  • 11:17 - Waiting

    After placeing the duffel bags in the cafeteria Harris and Kleebold walk out to their cars again, waiting for the bombs to go off. Their plan was to shoot anyone who tried to escape. Around 11:19, the Jefferson County, Colorado Sheriff's department receives the first 911 call. The caller reported an explosion that went off 3 miles southwest of Columbine High School. Witnesses identify Harris and Klebold standing at the top of the school's west outer steps, dressed in black trench coats.
  • 11:25 - The cafeteria

    11:25 - The cafeteria
    Students in the cafeteria now realize that what ever was going on outside was more than a senior prank. They began running for the east entrance, where they escaped.
  • 11:30 - The Students

    Numerous students have escaped from the east entrance and took cover behind a police car. The students tell the police men that the killers are walking around randomly shooting and throwing hand-grenades.
  • 11:35 - One more dead

    The last victim is killed. The killers walk through the hallways and look in the windows of the locked doors to classrooms. Students report the killers making eye contact with the students, but not trying to break in and harm them. Several more pipe bombs are seen thrown into the cafeteria and a camera catches one going off.
  • 11:40am - Reports and Cameras

    Officers report that 30 students have exited the school from the west side and have taken cover behind the patrol cars. It is said that those students taking cover behind the car escaped the library after Klebold and Harris left for they science wing. It is reported that one of the suspects have probably left the school, and police forces suround the school. A school surveilance camera records the gunmen in the cafeteria shooting at large duffle bags filled with pipe bombs. They don't explode.
  • 11:50 - The Office, and Officers

    Suspects are in the office area. An officer reports shots fired on the east side of the building. The fire sprinkler system alarm in the cafeteria goes off. a dispatcher reports a live bomb at Wadsworth and Chatfield streets. Officers on the east side of the school now report that they hear shots being fired in the northeast part of the school. Klebold and Harris's movements seem to be completely random.
  • 12:00 -

    Klebold and Harris leave the cafeteria and go upstairs to the library. Again. An armored vehicle is requested to rescue the injured because the scene is “not safe for medical vehicles." Officers report the school is slowly evacuated. Officers see the gunmen in a library window and shoot at them. Harris and Klebold return fire. The first SWAT team arrives.
  • 11:30 - The Library

    Harris and Klebold are in the library. In seven and a half minutes, they killed 10 people and 12 more have been wounded. There were a total of 56 people in the library and 34 escape injury. Other officers that have arrived and report that they have heard gun shots from a "large caliber". Deputy Searle reports smoke coming from the building. An officer realizes how dangerous this situation is and calls for help from the Sheriffs office.
  • 11:20 - The Shootings

    Klebold leans in the doorway of the cafeteria, but then joins Harris at the top of the outside stairs. Harris then shoots down the steps, hitting Anne Marie Hochhalter several times as she tries to run for the cafeteria. During the shooting outside, Harris and Klebold are seen lighting and throwing bombs up on the roof. Several members run into the cafiteria yelling at the students to get under the tables. Deputy Gardner has just pulled up to the west entrance of the school.
