Animals were one of the categories of things that were exchanged in the Columbian exchange. Most of these animals were brought over from the Old World to the New World by Columbus, and a lot of them were good sources of food.
The biggest impacts of animals being exchanged were that the New World became a much more habitable place with lots of food, and people there were able to have better means of transportation. -

When horses were introduced, Native Americans were able to leave their agricultural lifestyles and used horses to ride and hunt other animals, which made them richer than they were when they were farming.
