African slaves shipped to work on Colombian plantations
The Afircan Americans were being imported to Colombia to be slaves and to take the spot of Native Amercans when they die. Africans were forced to work in gold mines, on sugar cane plantations, cattle ranches, and large haciendas. They had to work until modern times. -

The USA paid Colombia $25 million for the loss of Panama
The Hay-Herrán Treaty was signed by Colombia for the US to get a strip of land of the Panama. After offering $10 million and an annuity of $250,000 the Colombian senate refused to ratify it.
