The United Nations was started by Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill, and Franklin Roosevelt. The United Nations is a peace keeping organization that tries to keep war from breaking out throughout the world. The organization is also still around today. The headquarters is located in New York, New York so that America would actually join the United Nations. The United Nations impacted politics by making the "higher ups" feel less worried about WWlll. -

Elvis Presley was the King of Rock 'N Roll from 1956 to 1973. He had been drafted into the military from 1952- 1960 so he had served his country and he had been a famous idol to America. He had made songs like "don't be cruel" and "hound dog" in his prime. He had died from prescription drug overdose on August 16, 1977. The day after his death is the day that the most flowers were sold in one day in history. Elvis Presley had impacted the society because he changed the world of Rock 'N Roll. -

Hurricane Katrina was a category 4 hurricane that had hit many places but the biggest and most memorable was New Orleans. The winds had broken a levee and 80% of the city had flooded. The hurricane was 400 miles wide and the winds were 175 mph. The storm had destroyed 150,000 homes and 900 churches. 1,833 people had died but 735 went missing. 70 countries had donated to help pay for the $81 billion in damage. The hurricane had impacted the American economy because of the high costs of the damage -
