Baby boom
The baby boom was where people started doing things and a lot of kids started popping up out of nowhere. They had to make up for lost time with the war. The population went from 9 million to 29 million people. It was also too expensive to have kids in the 1930s. This affected people because it made it so there were 20 million more. -
Jackie Robinson
Jackie Robinson was Born in Georgia. His father left when he was one year old. When Jackie Robinson was older he went to highschool in California. After that, he went to college in ULC and got 4 scholarships in Baseball, Football, Basketball, and Track. He then joined the war and was a second Lieutenant in WWII. He then played baseball in 1947 for the Brooklyn Dodgers but his teammates didn't like him. He and his family got threatened. This affected people because he has a day named after him. -
The cold war
The cold war was an important thing that happened in the past. It means that there was tension between two places but no actual fighting. This had a big impact on the government because they had to decide not to go to war and start fighting. -
Berlin wall
The Berlin wall was a wall in Berlin. 3 million people went to East Berlin because it was free and not under communist rule. The wall came up in a night. East Berlin who wanted to escape were shot and killed if they tried to escape. It had a big impact on the government becuase it showed that people cant be togeather without fighting. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
The Cuban missile crisis was a problem that we had in October 1962. The U.S. sent spy planes over to Cuba to see whats up and there were missiles pointed right at the U.S. It ended by the Soviet Union turning back. This had a huge impact on the society because it scared everyone thinking that we would go into a nuclear war. -

Persian gulf war
The Persian Gulf war was a quick war. It lasted 6 weeks and started January 16, 1991. We sent 100,000 troops into Kuwait because they trade oil with us. We tried to stop Communism and we wanted oil still. During this war, there were 11 million barrels spilled into the Gulf. This impacted us because we won and we still get oil from them. -
Bill clinton
Clinton was president 1993-2001. He was the governor of Arkansas before. He was democratic. This affected government because he was president for 8 years. This impacted polotics because it could have turned different and there could have a different person. -
9/11
9/11 was a horrible thing that happened to the U.S. A few airplanes were crashed into the Twin Towers. This had a huge impact on the people because it killed a lot of people and everyone remembers if they were old enough to remember. -
