This event was important because it made up for the time the men were gone at war. Also because of this happening it effected society because there was better health care for children and women. -
NATO/Warsaw pact
NATO stands for north Atlantic Treaty Organization. the Warsaw pact was run by the Soviet Union. NATO was made in April 1945 by the WWII allies. The Warsaw pact was made in may 1955. it was used for if another country attacked a military alliance the other would have to help. this was an impact because to helped out keeping peace. the meetings took place in Brussels, Belgium. Warsaw took pace in Poland. This impacted politics because it has to do with communism and democracy. -

brown vs board
in 1954 Oliver brown asked local school board to let his daughter, Linda, attend an all-white school. The all-white school was closer to his home but Linda went to the all-black school. This happens in Topeka, Kansas. this even is important because it overturned Plessy vs Ferguson case. This would effect society because she effected the people around her by being let into the school. -
Kennedy years
Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas Texas. he was assassinated by lee Harvey Oswald. he died at 2:00 pm. Kennedy was shot in the back of the head. This effect was political because now they need a new president. -
medicare/medicaid
Medicare was started by Lyndon Johnson in 1966. medicaid was started by the SSA in 1965. Medicaid is where the government helps pay hospital bills. Medicare covers about half of the health care charges. this is important because its the largest source of funding. Its benefits vary from state to state. -
Vietnam notes
The north leader Ho Chi Minh and the south Leader Ngo Dinh Diem are both leaders of Vietnam. North was communist and the south was a democracy. More than 500000 troops were sent to fight. There was many search and destroy missions. One importance was 58000 Americans were killed. There was no impact of this. This effected people politically because now Vietnam is now one. -

Ronald Reagan was a governor and a movie star. he was a president through 1980-1988. he spent $800 on defense. He had several assassination attempts. Ronald was loved by many republicans. This effect was political because he was a president. -

Terrorist attack in New York happens at 7:46 am. A Flight 11 hit one of the twin towers. 20 min later a United Airlines Fight his the other one. This effected society because this is a day everyone who was alive will remember. There was 2,753 deaths. Today there is now a memorial. The one who planed this was Osama Bin Laden. -
Barack Obama Inauguration
Jan 20, 2009 Barack Obama was inaugurated.There was over one million viewers. This was political because there was a new president. tickets to see him were $1,750.
