    The United States drops atomic bomb on Nagasaki on August 9, 1947.
  • Cold War: Beginning

    The Cold War lasted officially from September 2, 1945 according to U.S. Federal Law, This was when the Japanese surrendered ending World War II.
  • The reason for naming it the Cold War

    It's called the Cold War because it never led to armed or "hot" conflict. It didn't "boil up" to an extreme point such as the world war II.

    May 12, 1949 finally comes to end the Berlin Blockade creating much happiness and reuniting many family and friends.

    Their is not an exact date of when the Cold War ended but it was in August of 1991. The end of Soviet Union and the Cold War ends as well.
