    Stalin, determined to capture West Berlin, stopped all highway, railway, and waterway traffic from western Germany to stop them from receiving aid. The United States & Britain supplied West Berlin through a massive airlift with food, fuel, medical supplies, clothing, toys, etc.

    National Atlanctic Treary Organization (NATO) assembled
    NATO Rivals form alliance against Stalin and others formed NATO to provide the military alliance to counter Soviet Expansion. Twelve Western European and North American nations agreed to act together in the defense of Western Europe.

    UN forces push communists back to 38th parallel. Cease-fire is signed, with border at 38th parallel. Ths U.S. leaves troops there so they are still involved and have less troops.

    The blacklist was a list of entertainment figures who should not be hired because of their suspected communist ties. Their careers were shattered. This caused a great impact on filmmaking and made people question who could be trusted.

    Started her first job as a corn destalker. 70 cents an hour to detassle corn. Walked through rows of corn and Detasled it.

    Graduated from Gardner High School in Gardner, Kansas.
  • Graduated from College

    Graduated college from Kansas University with a bachelor's degree.
  • Traveled through Europe

    Went to Paris, London, Switzerland, Italy, and Scotland, and traveled.
  • Moved to East Coast

    Moved from Lawrence, Kansas to the Washington D.C. area. Stayed on the East coast for 10 years.
  • Graduated college

    Graduated college from Kansas University with a master's degree.

    Living in Washington D.D. working for the government; worked for a trade association as a lobbyist. Educated people on capitol hill on ther interest of our association.
