The Marshall plan was made so that America could aid Europe after World War ll and help rebuild over there. America helped for four years so that they could remove trade barriers, modernize industry and make Europe prosperous again. -

Rosenberg Spy Case
Ethel Greenglass Rosenberg and Julius Rosenberg were convicted and executed, for conspiracy to commit espionage during a time of war. These two were charged for the passing of information about atomic bombs to the Soviet Union. Ethel and Julius were the only two in US history to be executed for espionage. -
Creation of the Warsaw Pact
The Warsaw Pact was a mutual defense treaty between eight communists states of Eastern Europe that started during the Cold War. It was the military complement to the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance. -

German Reunification/Fall Of Berlin Wall
The Fall of Berlin Wall happened because to many people wanted to travel to nearby countries. The citizens started a protest lasting until november and when they still didnt open the gates the protesters gathered around the checkpoints and finally pushed though the wall causing it to fall. -

The Cuban Missle Crisis was a 13-day confrontation between the Soviet Union and Cuba on one side, and the United States on the other, They threatened to blow each other up but it ended up with the United States pledging not to blow up Cuba if the Soviet Union removed their nuclear weapons. -
The Six Day War
This war was fought between Isreal and Egypt from June 5-June 10, 1967. Isreal suprised Egypt by launching a bomb on them, and after six days, Isreal won and took over The Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula from Egypt. -

The collapse of the Soviet Union happened soon after The Cold War along with the fall of communism. Mikhail Gorbachev was credited with helping The Cold War come to an end.
