    The Confederate army attacks the left flank of the Union army while right flank of the Union attacks the Confederate army both attacks are virtual stalemates but so ground is gained for the Union

    Day becomes a giant death trap from the Union because of the increased fortifications for the Confederates causeing mass casulties and bogging down the Union advanced

    Day started with the shelling of confederate batterys' using mortars in response the Confederates used artillery to attack the Union many died in the area where they were bogged down from the night before
  • Final days of the Battle

    Grant and Lee traded notes across the lines from June 5 to June 7 without coming to an agreement, and when Grant formally requested a two-hour cessation of hostilities, it was too late for most of the unfortunate wounded, who were now bloated corpses. Grant was widely criticized in the North. In five days the Union makes a tactical retreat from the battle but towards richmonds railroads which cause a withdrawl by both sides
