Araella Nuvoo, the leader of the fearless tribe, Saorsa, discovers the hidden land of Elysian. She sought to find a land for her tribe to be able to live peacefully, away from persecution, by the hands of the Russian.
-
The Saorsa tribe fell in love with the land, their leader had found. They thought the place was pure magic; therefore they named it Elysian. Elysian means divinely inspired. The tribe would later form a written constitution.
-
There was a huge division in the tribe, when some members began trading with the very Russians that persecuted them.
-
A war broke out between the Russians and Saorsins, when those who opposed trade with the enemy reacted violently. They set fire to the trading routes, and goods. A few extremists even killed other Russians, resulting in their burning at the stake.
-
The tribe reacts violently towards the council when 38 people are burned at the stake, as a punishment for starting a war.
-
The Russian leaders met with the council to form an agreement. Neither would trade with each other until 10 years had passed, and the anger had died down.
-
Araella meets with the council, and they decide to outlaw cruel punishment. A tribe that stood for freedom and liberty couldn't be so cruel.
-
Araella's second, her niece, takes the leadership position. Lilac new that what the tribe needed was an official government.
-
Several people tried to dictate the tribe. People were dying left and right, when new groups within that very tribe were rising. Lilac new that if the tribe was going to survive, they needed a form of government, where the people could also be involved.
-
Saorsa means freedom, and liberty. The Saorsa tribe desired to have a government that would protect individual liberties. The council new that they needed to be strict on a few areas, to keep order, but they also wanted to give people a voice. The council new that every person in that tribe had a right to participate. They made their government a democracy. This way the government could maintain order, while offering people the freedoms, and liberties they were never given by the Russians.
