This treaty guarenteed that the black hills would belong to the lakota people. the treaty says that they will americanize the lakota people. During the gold rush, whites violated this treaty and crossed into indian territory seeking gold. -
Battle of Duro Canyon
Victory for the united states. Ended the red river war. Comanche, kiowa,chenne tribes stockpilled food and supplies in the canyon. Mackenzie reached the canyon in late september. From there he brought his whole army to the edge of the canyon and planned a suprise attack. since the indian camps were so far spread out, taking them out was an easy victory. -

the lakota, cheynne, and arapaho tribes united against the forces of the 7th calvery regiment. overwhelming victory for the indians. Custer died here. -

A peacefull dance, but governmnt officials saw it as a act of war, so they outlawed the ghost dance. many people did not obey, and got killed because of it. -
