    Treaty signed by the Comanche, Kiowa, Cheyenne, and other southern nations moving them to now Western Oklahoma.

    2nd Treaty of Fort Laramie
    Treaty that closed the U.S. Bozeman trail, and in exchange, the Sioux would live on a reservation along the Missouri river.
  • Battle of Palo Duro Canyon

    Battle of Palo Duro Canyon
    Battle fought by Colonel Ranald Mckenzie who caught Comanches, Kiowas, and Cheyennes. He sent in his cavalry and slaughtered more than 1,000 Indian ponies and all of the food stores. the starving Indians then had no choice but to surrender.

    Battle between General Custer and the Sioux, Cheyenne, and the Arapaho Indians, over 2,000. The U.S. troops were quickly outnumbered and were defeated easily. This was a huge victory for the Sioux.

    This is when the U.S. troops finally captured the Indian leader Geronimo. He was an Apache leader who fled the reservation and lead raids against Mexico and the U.S. He was finally caught at Skeleton Canyon.

    The year that the Wovoka Jack Wilson had a vision of the white men leaving and the buffalo returning. This started the begging of the Ghost Dance Movement.
  • The Wounded Knee Massacre

    The Wounded Knee Massacre
    Colonel James Forsyth ordered the Sioux to give up their weapons, and a young Indian named Black Coyote wouldn't. There was a struggle and his gun went off and shots started firing. About half of the Sioux men were killed, then many fled and over 300 Sioux i=Indians were persued and killed.
