  • Hampton Roads

    Confederate boat attacks in the Union. Sinks a Us boat that was aground. Union with the defensive advantage fights back and ends up winning the battle. This was the fist boat battle in the civil war and helped technology big time
  • Richmond

    Generals (Kirby Smith, Patrick R. Slebourne, John S. Scott, William Nelson, Malone D.) Fought in the confederate Capitol in Virginia. Confederates have an advantage because they are fighting a defensive war. Union, confederates)
  • Fredricksburg

    One of the most deadly battles in the war. Fought in the streets of Fredricksburg. ( important generals) Burnside, William B. Franklin, stonewall Jackson. Union and Confederates face off. The union had the win at first but Jackson came back with close counter attacks. Confederates had the up side because they fought a defensive war.
  • Vicksburg

    South hold down a river fort. It was tough terrain but South again had defensive advantage. North had more troops. Important generals-Ulysses S. Grant, John Pemberton. Union dominates Pembertons forces with a huge win for the union. 32,492 out of 33,00 men were killed missing or wounded.
  • Sherman's March To the Sea

    Terrible time when Sherman and his army crashed towns and states and burned everything. This was a plan to need it but did not work. It was a terrible time in history. Sherman is part of the Union. Union has the advantage because they are using fire and they are weakening the confederates.
