    South Carolina withdrew from the United States on December 20,1860. This was important because South carolina was tge first state to secede from the federal union.
  • Attack on Fort Sumter

    The battle of For sumter was the bombardment Fort Sumter near charleston south carolina. It was important becuase it was the strart of the civil war.
  • Battle of Bull run/Manassas

    The Battle of Bull run/Manassas was when the Union and the Confederate armies clashed near Manassas junction, Virginia. It was significant becuase it was the first major land battle of the American Civil War.
  • Battle of Antietam

    The Battle of Anietam was when General Robert E Lee attempted to invade the north againts the union. It was signifigant becuase it was regarded as one of the greatest Confederate threats to Washington D.C.
  • Battle of Fredericksburg

    Confederate General Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia fights back a series of attacks by General Ambrose Burnside's Army of the Potomac at Fredericksburg, Virginia. This battle was signifigant because it was a major deafeat for the Union Army.

    The Emancipation proclamtion was when Abraham lincon declared '' that all slaves within the rebillious states are, and hencefoward shall be free. It was siginfigant becuase it gave slaves thier oppurtunity to free life in the united states.
  • Battle of Vicksburg

    The battle of Vicksburg was a decisive Union Victory during the American CIvil War. This battle was signifigant because it divided the confederacy and cemented the reputation of Union General Ulysses S. Grant.
  • Battle of Gettysburg

    In the summer of 1863 Confederate Gen. Robert E Lee started his second invasion of the northern states around the town of Gettysburg, Pennsyalvania. This battle was signifigant because it was the turning point of the Civil War.
  • 54th Massachusetts Fight at Fort Wagner

    Massachusetts led a second Union assualt against Fort Wagner. It was signifigant because by the end of the war more than 180,000 African Americans enlisted in the union army, making up 10% of all union forces for the duration of the war.
  • Gettysburg Address

    The Gettysburg Address is a speech Abraham Licoln stated during the CIvil war. This speech was signifgant because it was honering those who died at Gettysburg.
  • Sherman’s March to the Sea

    Shermans March to the Sea was when sherman frightened Georgia 'civillian population and stole food, livestock and burned houses of those u tried to fight back.
  • 13th Amendment Passed

    This Amendment passed by congress abolished slavery in the United States.
  • Surrender at Appomattox Courthouse

    The Surrender at Appomattox Courthouse was when Robert E Leesurrenders his 28,000 Confederate troops to Union General Ulysses S. Grant ending the American Civil War
