Abe Lincoln elected president
Abrham Lincoln was elected the 16th president. The greatness about it is that the South didn't agree with this decision. -
Battle of Fort Sumter
The Conferderates become under attack at Fort Sumter because they both, Conferderate and Union think it is there land. The greatness is it began the Civil War. -
Lincoln orders to blockade the South
Known as the Anacode plan. The North blockaded the South inwards towards there terrioty. The greatness about this is the North trapped and surronder the South so that they did have a battle ground. That lead the South to be forced into a crisis. -
First Battle of Bull Run
The first battle of Bull Run was before Fort Sumter and Abe Lincoln decided to fire first so that the South could be attacked by a big blow. The greatness was that it was the bloodiest battle in American history. -
Monitor vs. Virginia naval battle
It was a battle between USS Monitor and the CSS Virginia. The greatness about it was it was one of the first ironclads. -
Battle of Shiloh
Confederate's army surprise attack the Union who is very unprepared. The greatness is the Union killed or wounded over 10,000 Confederate troops. -
7 Days Campaign
The 7 days Campaign was 6 battles in only 7 days. It began with the Union becoming a part of the Battle of Oak Grove. The greatness about this is in Lee's army, the offenive side, lost over 20,000 people. -
2nd Battle of Bull Run
Confederates wins against the Union, the Union retreats back to Washington again. The greatness is the Confederates won with less troops then the Union. -
Antietam
General Robert E. Lee and the Confederate army get attacked by the Union army. The greatness is 26,000 people died over night on the Confederate army. -
Emancipation Proclamation issued
Is a executive order that was signed by Abe Lincoln, it freed slaves in ten of the rebellion states. The greatness is that it let 50,000 slaves have there freedom. -
Emancipation Proclamation takes effect
Abraham Lincoln makes the final descision of freeing all of the slaves. The greatness about this is it was a struggle to do so. -
Battle at Chancellorsville
Was a Confederate victory between them and the Union. The greatness about this is that this battle was known as Lee's "perfect battle". -
Battle of Gettysburg
In the Battle of Gettysburg it stopped Lee's raid of the North, ending up in a Union win. The greatness is it was the battle with the largest casulaties. -
Siege of Vicksburg
The Confederate's surrenered the Mississippi River to Gen. Grant. The greatness is since the Union is now in control of the Mississippi River the Confederate army was then split in two. -
Gettysburg Address
Was a speech given by Abraham Lincoln and was known as the "new birth of freedom". This speech happened 4 and 1/2 months after the Union won in the Battle of Gettysburg. The greatness was that it is now one of the most well-known speeches. -
Battle at Chattanooga
The Battle at Chattanooga had 3 battles within it. In the last battle the Union won against the Conferderate's. The greatness about this is someone yelled "Chickamauga! Chickamauga!", and that helped the Union avenge them selves. -
Ulysses S. Grant
Ulysses S. Grant toke over the Union army. The greatness about this is he found out the way to defeat the South. -
Sherman captures Atlanta
It was when a campaign began and then Sherman's soliders captured the city of Atlanta, GA. The greatness is Sherman's troops went thur Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and the District of Columbia in only 7 months! -
Abraham Lincoln gets re-elected
Abraham Lincoln was re-elceted president and won against Democrat George B. McClellan. The greatness was he won by 212 of 233 electoral votes. -
Sherman begins march to the sea
Sherman's march to sea, happened after he captured Atlanta. President Lincoln got advice from Sherman saying it was a good idea. Sherman said, "I can make Georgia howl!. The greatness about this is even with capturing Atlanta, Sherman's army still had 62,000 troops. -
Savannah, GA falls to the Union
Sherman gives Savannah, GA to the Union. The greatness is Sherman telegraphed Abe Lincoln and gaveSavannah to the Union as a christmas present. -
13th Amendment passed
The 13th Amendment is approved and it is used to get rid of slavery across the country. The greatness is that slavery was not allowed to be used again! -

Gen. Robert E. Lee surrenered his Confederate army to Gen. Ulysses S. Grant. The greatness about this is the Civil War was over but yet a Civil War 2 started. -

Abraham Lincoln was watching a play with his wife, when the thrid act came John Booth shoots Abe Lincoln in the back of the head. The greatess about this is doctors tired to care for Abe Lincoln but he never regained his consciousness from the blow.
