    On this day Abraham Lincoln was elected the president of the United States. He was a republican and the 16 president. Lincoln's no slavery made the demmocratic party upset. His election lead to states secceding from the union and starting the Confederate states of America.

    Sam Houston was kicked out of office because he opposed secession. Houston was against the majority vote of the people. Houston was loyal to the Union and couldn't seccede so he stepped down as govenor.

Mojor Robert Anderson ond his troops fled to the unfinished Fort sumter to escape hostile Confederate South Carolinia. The Confederate troops found ourt and surrounded the fort. They asked for surrender but they would not so the troops fired on the fort killing none but sending home Major Robert Anderson. The Confederate won.

    Maj. Gen. John B. Magruder and his troops fired on Galveston Island. They were trindg to take back the area from the Union. they captured of killed all soilders at the battle. The Confederate was the victor.

    Gen. Robert E. Lee consentrated his forces around the small town of Getteysburg. He waited for the Union to attack. The battle was 3 days of constant battle and war between the north and south. The Union overpowerd the Confederacy giving the Union the victory.
