  • The South Secedes

    When Abraham Lincoln was elected president, South Carolina legislature perceived a threat. The states convention to vote off South Carolina from the union know as United State of America. Than ten more state was voted off Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee, and North Carolina. These eleven states eventually formed the Confederate States of America.
  • The South Creates a Government

    At a convention in Montgomery, Alabama, The state started the Confederate Constitution, a document similar to the United States Constitution, but with greater stress on the autonomy of each state. Jefferson Davis was named president of the Confederacy until elections could be held.
  • First Battle of Bull Run

    Public demand pushed General in Chief Winfield Scott to advance on the South. Scott ordered General Irvin McDowell to advance on Confederate troops stationed at Manassas Junction, Virginia. McDowell attacked on July 21.
  • Abraham Lincoln

    On the day of January 27, 1862, our past president Abraham Lincoln published a war to the Union which erupted an action towards the Confederacy. This caused General McCellan to ignore this action.
  • New Orleans

    The Flag officer, named David Farragut created and assault upon the Mississippi River. By the time it was April 25th he controlled New orleans.
  • The New Commander

    The day of July 11th, Major General named Henry Halleck became general Of the Union.
  • Emancipation Proclamation

    When Abraham Lincoln was president, they needed and slave-holding but Lincoln resisted to complete this abolition. While that was going on slave were starting to escape so slave were rebelling against up and the Congress saw it as a contraband of war. So in 1861 the Congress has passed that so if the slaves have escape they considered them free. Even though the Congress excepted that more slave started to rebel.
  • The First Conscription Act

    Since there was going to be a war, the recruiting was difficult. So they put a rule, men that are in the age or 20 to 45 will serve the military. If you did not want to take part in the military you have to pay. So when that was going on New York started to protext and it was a big issue.
  • The Battle of Chancellorsville

    The General Hookers passed a five to surprise the General Lee's forces. They almost took out have of the General Lee's forces. The General Lee's were defeated and the General Hooker left with victory.
  • January 1865-The fall of the confeduration

    Lots of soldiers were starving, so many of them started deserting (leaving) General lee's forces. Transportation was a problem, and there were many successful road blocks. President Davis went as far as arming slaves and having them fight.
  • April 1865-Assassination of Lincoln

    President Lincoln Was at a theater performance of "Our american Cousin"at Ford's theater, when he was shot by John Wilkes Booth.He was an Actor from Maryland,Obsessed with avenging the confederates.
  • April 16, 1865- Fallen Richmond

    On March 15, General Lee lead an Attack on general Grants Forces. But, He failed in the process. he tried again on April 1, and failed again. Then he fled Richmond on April 2
