    Elections for president in 15 of October 1860, were run by Abraham lincoln and Bell Douglas. However, in the 1860 elections Abraham's name did not show up in the pamphlets in the south. So, the entire south voted for Douglas, but Abraham still waon because there are still more people in the noth than the south. Votes; Abraham 39.8 and Douglas 29.5. (Dates may not be correct!)

    April 12,1861 was when the Civil War started, and April 9, 1865 was when it ended.
    The Civil War started when the confederates attacked the union. The Confederates (South America) wanted to become their oun country, and own slaves. The Union put their foot down and said, "no, you are part of this country." To tell the truth, the south was just throwing a fit because they wanted to own slaves ,and the noth was not going to deal with it.

    Bull run was the first major battle in Virginia. Union forces came from Washinton to flank and take over Bull Run. However, the Confederates forces broke through the Union's right flank. Later the General named 'Stonewall' requested for heavy artilery, thus brought the end of Bull Run.

    Jefferon Davis was the first and only president of the confederate states. Davis attended school and joined the military in West Point. Plus he was apart of the Black Hawk war.

    George McClellan mounted a series of attacks of Lee's forces near Maryland. The Confederates were butchered, whick makes tthis day the bloodiest day in the Civil War.

    Abe announced the Emancipation Proclamation saying "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free." Dispite his wording the Emancipation Proclamation wasl immited in many ways. In time it captured the hearts of millions, however, it did not end slavery.

    The Congress passed the very first drafting thing for the Cilvil War. They were asking for men 20 to 45 years old to be trained and sent off to war.They also included African Americans.

    Draft riots first began in New York, which was one of the darkest days in New York's history. The New yorkers thought they contributed enough when they sent 27,000 soldier to the battle of Gettsyburg. Mobs had fought the police throughout the week, burning things and damaging property.

    William Clarke Quendrill raided Lawrence,which was in Kanses with an entrie fleet of African americans. Quendrills men killed 150 boy's and men.
  • Seige of Knoxville

    By this time the Union was deep into Comfedrate territory. So their attention slightly shifted to theators, but the Confederates where slightly misjudged because they took over Chickamauga. Although they sent 17,000 troops to Knoxville they still lost.

    The Confederate army was camped out 30 miles away from General Williams army in Nashviile. His orders were that if he did not take action then they would replace him. Thus, started the war over Stones River.

    They used a ship to sink the USS Houstonic outside of Charleston, South Carolina. Which was lost untill 1995.
