    Charleston Harbor, South Carolina. Fort Sumter was asked to be surrendered to the Union. This idea was refused. Marking the start of the Civil War, a 34 hour battle was carried out until the Union one and Ft. Sumter was surrendered to the Union.

    Mananas, Virginia. As the first major engagement in the Civil War the Battle of Bull Run resulted in 3,000 causalities to the Union and 1,750 casualties to the Confederacy. Despite the Confederacy winning the Union still made it to Washington due to the disorganized confederates.

    Hardin Country, Tennessee. A victory by the Union resulting in 23,000 casualties. This event included large-scale death. The Confederates succeeded in capturing and killing many of the Union soldiers.
  • Battle of Antietam

    Antietam Creek, Maryland Known as the bloodiest day in American History Antietam had 23,000 casualties from both sides. As this battle concluded with a Union Abraham Lincoln was enabled to give the Emancipation Proclamation.

    Fredericksburg, Virginia A confederate victory with a total of 18,000 casualties was different from most of the battles. A new union commander was added to the mix and the South stormed the territory from both sides resulting in confederate victory.
  • Appomattox Courthouse

    Appomattox, Virginia 6,000 Confederate soldiers were taken prisoner. General Lee surrendered as the Union won and this signified the end of the Civil War.
