-First shots were fired by the Confederacy side once the Union surrendered that is when the Civil War began and states had to choose whether they would stay with the Union or go to the Confederacy side. -

-Once the Emancipation Proclamation was signed many slaves were free but not all until the Union won the war and the war finally came to an end.

-John Wilkes Booth was a Confederate supporter who shot Lincoln at the back of his head and was planing to assassinate Secretary of State and Vice President by his other fellow accomplices.
-Lincoln shot April 14, 1865 but died April 15, 1865 the police that was supposed to guard him at the time was never there with him.
