    Facts: After Antietam Lee retreated into Virginia. Burnside marched his troops twoard Richmond. Lee intercepts troops at Fredericksburg. Lee moves to a hill and built trenches so the Rebels could fire down and be protected. Lee entrenched forces easily drive the Union forces back.

    Facts: Lee and Hooker both decieded to split their troops. Some Rebel troops stayed to defend Fredericksburg and some confrontted the Union forces at Chancellorsville. Jackson gets shot by his own men. Arm is amputated and died a week later.

    Jefferson Davis escapes Richmond and burnes the city to hide the evidence. In the town of Appomattox Court House Grant and Lee discuss the terms of surrender. Conditions: Rebel troops keep their guns. Repel officers keep their horses. No one allowed to disturb the soldiers on their way home. 25,000 rations to the Rebel troops. April 9 1865: the war is officially over.
