  • Fort Sumter

    General Beaugard (Confederate) had open fire on the union, at Fort Sumter. The Union soon surrendered and evacuated the next day.

    It is the first major battle fought. The Union marched from Washington to a river called bull run. The South won and set the Union retreating back to Washington.

    The Union began their assault nearby Fort Donelson, the Confederates fail to get past the Union's lines, and they surrender.

    Union thought that they had trapped the confederates, so they launched a series of assaults. Another southern army came and help them to fight. They crushed the Union.

    The union attacked the confederates and forced them to retreat. Lincoln was very pleased with his army.

    The union crossed the river where the south was. When the north got there, within a couple hours, the south wiped out the union.

    Abraham Lincoln issued this document saying that all slaves shall be free. This was a measure of war only, later the 13th amendment was the document that formally got rid of slavery.
