Election of 1860

Sharecropping
Sharecropping is when you borrow land from someone and try to make money off of selling crops you produce, but if you don't make enough profit then you have to borrow more mney from the landowner, getting into a cycle of debt. The Battle of Gettysburg
General Robert E. Lee lead hid Union troops to Gettysburg, but lost and was pushed back by the confederacy. This battle had 51,000 casualties in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and is considered the deadliest battle. (New GA Encyclopedia) -
Chickamauga
This battle lasted 3 days, and the south won. This battle was considered the 2nd bloodiest battle, with 34,000 casualties. (New GA Encyclopedia) -
The KKK
The KKK was an organization of white men who would go out in the middle of the night to torture black families. The KKK considered themselves to be a secret society who were dedicated to keep whites higher than the colored in the United States. (New GA Encyclopedia)
