    6 months before the 19th amendement allowing women to vote was ratified, LWV was founded.

    LWV voted and had a nationwaide pressure campaign that supported the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). This campaign continued throughout the 70s.

    1980's

    LWV sponsered the Presidental Debates in 1980 and 1984. The League also sponsered presidential primary forums is 1980, 1984, and 1988.

  • 2002

    While working with a civil rights coalition, the League helped draft and helped pass the Help America Vote Act (HAVA).

    The Women's League of Voters celebrated its 100 year anniversary on February 14, 2020.
