  • Civil Rights Act

This act stopped segregation of public places and stopped employment discrimination.
  • Selma to Montgomery

A march from Selma to Montgomery occurs to fight voting laws. I believe that this is a development of the Civil Rights Act directly because this act had nothing to do with their voting power. They were not to be segregated in public, so this oppression was the next step in the movement. The Civil Rights Act was not the end.
  • Church Bomber Convicted

Thomas Blanton is convicted after 38 years of 1st degree murder. It took an awful long time, but a white man is finally punished for his actions against African-Americans.

  • Barack's Inauguration

The nine girls from the Little Rock Crisis were recognized as great, strong, people, and were invited to go to the first black president's inauguration. This is a "thank you".
