Simon, Magnus, Alec, and Isabelle summon the demon of weapons in order to find a way to figure out where Clary, Sebastian, and Jace are located. Their summoning is succesful but the demon refuses so plans are made to summon the angel Raziel. -

Raziel gives Simon the sword of the angel Michael so that he can free Jace from possesion. In a battle, he meets Clary and she stabs Jace releasing him from possesion. Sebastian escapes and Alec and Magnus break up when Magnus finds out that Alec was trying to shorten his life, meanwhile Jace is now harboring holy fire inside his body from being stabbed by Joshua's sword.
