    206 BC- 220 AD
This was considered the "Era of Disunity" for China because there were many rivalries within the country (this aided in their downfall). They established the age of technology, expanded the Great Wall, invented paper, compass, porcelain, world’s first wheelbarrow, a simple seismograph and created the Silk Route (a trade route that ran through China and was protected to ensure safe and fair trade).

    Manchu/Qing Dynasty (Cont)

(I created another due to a word limit)
Empress Cixi was the most powerful empress ever because she was basically the Emperor as she ruled in place of her son who was not quite old enough to rule yet. This dynasty created a treaty with Russia to protect them from Russia. th last emperor of this dynasty was also the last emperor in China. He, Henry, ruled from Dec. 2nd 1908- Feb 12th 1917. The downfall of Dyanasties in China was caused by European powers interfereing.
  • Period: to

    Manchu/ Qing Dynasty

Surprisingly, China did not get its name until this Dynasty and when they talked about "Chinese" they were refering to the Han people. The Qing really wanted to prevent the Manchus, whom they had just overthrown, from being absorbed into the Han group. This dynasty boasts the largest area controlled by any of the dynasties and a large 80,000 troops led by emperor Kangxi. This was the largest dynasty in history. Also in this Dynasty was Empress Cixi, the most powerful empress of China.
